Miranda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Colorado and California with over 6 years of experience as a mental health provider. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and her M.A. in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from Palo Alto University. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and her experience spans diverse settings including community mental health, public schools, active-duty military families, partial hospital programming, intensive outpatient treatment, and private practice.
Miranda takes a radically validating stance as a therapist and believes that every challenge is an opportunity for clients to learn more about their emotional health. Her approach combines both the science of psychology and the art of counseling to help clients develop mindful awareness, process emotions, and integrate parts of both past and present. Miranda has a research background in clinical psychology, with extensive knowledge of the brain and nervous system, combined with expertise in marriage and family therapy, which embraces a relational and systemic approach to healing. While Miranda works with individuals, couples, and families, she is particularly passionate about working with children and adolescents ages 4-18. Her previous experience as a behavior therapist, school counselor, and adolescent eating disorder therapist sparked her interest in working with youth who face challenges with mental and emotional health, somatic symptoms, and physical health concerns.
